The White Stripes

The White Stripes foi uma dupla de rock estadunidense, formada no ano de 1997 em Detroit, Michigan, composta por Jack White (compositor, vocalista, guitarrista, pianista) e Meg White (bateria, percussão e vocal de apoio). Em Janeiro de 2011, anunciaram oficialmente o fim de suas atividades.

Arcade Fire

Banda canadense formada em 2003 pelo casal Win Butler e Régine Chassagne. São muito aclamados por suas apresentações ao vivo, já que muitos músicos os acompanham, inclusive com instrumentos pouco usuais no rock.Entre eles, Xilofone e Harpa. A excentricidade também marcou presença na história da banda. No final de 2006, compraram uma igreja para gravar o álbum Neon bible. Hoje, com 8 anos de estrada e 3 álbuns lançados, o Arcade Fire acumula prêmios. O Grammy de melhor álbum do ano em 2010 e o Brit Award de melhor álbum internacional em 2011, pelo álbum "The Suburbs", são os mais importantes.

Arctic Monkeys

Após ganharem suas guitarras no natal de 2001, os jovens britânicos moradores de Sheffield, Alex Turner(Guitarra base e vocal) e Jamie Cook (guitarra solo), montaram uma banda com seus amigos da escola, Glyn Jones (1º vocalista, que logo saiu da banda), Andy Nicholson(Baixo.Substituído por Nick O'Malley em 2006) e Matt Helders(Baterista).
Com o nome Bang Bang, tocavam covers de bandas como Led Zeppelin. Após Alex assumir os vocais e a tarefa de compositor da banda, mudaram o nome para Arctic Monkeys. Depois de alguns shows, em 2003 gravaram CD's Demo e começaram a distribuir para o público. CD's estes, que foram disponibilizados na internet. Começava assim o sucesso dos Macacos do Ártico.

The Strokes

Cinco riquinhos rebeldes que copiam Velvet Underground. É assim que muitos definem esta banda de Nova York. Prefiro pensar neles como uma boa banda, que tem como referência grandes nomes do rock.
Desde 1998 na estrada, Julian Casablancas (vocal), Nick Valensi (guitarra), Albert Hammond, Jr. (guitarra), Nikolai Fraiture (baixo) e Fabrizio Moretti (bateria e percussão) lançaram em 2011 seu 4º álbum.

Kings of leon

Charles Hardin Holley, mais conhecido como Buddy Holly, foi um cantor e compositor estadunidense.
Pioneiro no Rock n' roll, Buddy Holly teve uma breve passagem pela terra. Morreu aos 22 anos em um acidente aéreo. Mas, deixou eternizado 3 álbuns que até hoje são referência para muitos artistas.
Tanto que, agora em 2011, foi lançado "Rave on", uma coletânea com releituras de suas músicas. Nomes como Florence and the Machine, She & Him, Julian Casablancas e Paul McCartney, estão presentes no álbum.
